6 Reasons why we love Jamaica

Let’s get together and ….and feel alright – in Jamaica. Many people have heard the word famous reggae song, right?  And if you are looking to relax and unwind, then Jamaica may just be the perfect spot for your next Caribbean vacation.

Really, it was love at first sight and the more we discovered, the more we fell in love, head over heels.

Here are Six Reasons to go to Jamaica:

1. Beaches

Negril, Jamaica is one of our favorite places in the word and Seven–Mile Beach is one of the most amazing beaches we have ever stepped foot on (and we are not alone, it has won worldwide acclaim). It is truly one of the best beaches in the world. Crystal clear swim-able waters next to powder white sand beaches – it’s beautiful. This is one of the reasons why Jamaica is so popular.

2. Sunsets

In Jamaica you can enjoy beautiful sunsets

Negril is at the western tip of Jamaica and is known for amazing sunsets. Everyone who goes to Jamaica posts a sunset picture! Just grab a spot on the beach and enjoy the view. Since the Negril sunsets are so famous – there are also many other unique ways to take one in. If you want romance, there are several sailing and catamaran excursions where you can experience a magnificent sunset from right on the water. Or, one of the most popular and fun recommendations is to head out early for a cold drink or meal, watch the local cliff jumpers at the famous Rick’s Café and stay for the stunning sunset.

3. Jamaican Waterfalls

Dunn’s River Falls near Ocho Rios is the most famous waterfall in Jamaica. It is also one of Jamaica’s most famous tourist sites overall. Visitors climb the falls on foot starting at the beach and move all the way to the top of the mountain, linked arm in arm with the person in front of and behind them. Dunn’s River Falls excursion is an experience not to be missed. No climbing experience necessary. Also consider The Y.S. Falls, located on the south coast of Jamaica. After a tractor ride, you climb to the top of the falls with your group (escorted by a guide), swim in the natural pools and even go zip lining in the nearby park if you feel adventurous enough. It’s no wonder these falls our the crown jewel of this gorgeous country.

4. Music, and the whole culture that surrounds it

The relaxing vibe is piped through every bar, lounge, restaurant, hotel … and sets a calming relaxing atmosphere. This all begins with the King of Reggae: Bob Marley who was born in Nine Mile and with him a cultural movement. He brought the Rastafari culture into the mainstream with the Wailing Rude Boys and his lyrics about love, redemption, and natural beauty influenced music, counterculture movements, and society as a whole. His vibe – and his music – can be felt and heard all throughout Jamaica.

5. Diversity in ecosystems

From the beach to waterfalls to rivers, – there are plenty of reasons to visit Jamaica – the rich variety of ecosystems in Jamaica has us nature lovers falling head over heels for its amazing biodiversity. It’s the perfect escape to let loose and go wild with adventures of all kinds – whether it’s flying across the treetops, training for the winter Olympics in a hot, Caribbean day or finding some crocs along the way – Jamaica has it all and with it an amazing and inviting vibe that is all its own.
