8 TIPS FOR A FLAWLESS WEDDING
1) Know how many guests you will invite to your flawless wedding
When you come to choose your venue, first consider how many guests you wish to invite. Don’t waste valuable time visiting unusable venues that won’t be big enough to hold your party. That way, you won’t have to worry about cutting the guest list short because you can’t cram any more people in.
2) Check the weather
If you are going to be somewhere outside, think about what kind of insects may be in the area during that time of year. Plan accordingly and consider leaving repellant in gift bags or use tiki torches with repellant in them. When it comes to a romantic sunset wedding, you should always know what time the sun goes down. Think about photo opportunities and schedule a flawless wedding ceremony so that you still have some time for after-ceremony photos with your new partner. Also, always check the weather forecast and have a Plan B in case of inclement weather.
3) Ask about the rules
Rules, rules, rules – here is another tip for your flawless wedding ceremony. Everyone has them and we almost always have to follow them. Because you can’t always foresee some of the rules of the venues you will be using on your wedding day, ask for them in advance. You may have a nice idea to throw confetti for your wedding photos but certain venues won’t let you use confetti unless it’s biodegradable. Others may have dress code rules, such as churches that may not feel comfortable with guests walking into a place of worship in a strapless dress.
4) Always carry a copy of vendor correspondence
Keep a hard copy of correspondence with your vendors. Any phone conversations concerning negotiations on pricing, or added bonuses, etc. should then be confirmed by email. Print out the email and have it with you on the day of your wedding, because the person who promised you the deal may not be there or you might not be able to contact them when you really need to.
5) Keep the menu simple
You can’t accommodate every guest you have invited to your wedding. Some guests will be diabetics, vegans, on a diet, or have allergies. If you try and have an option available for each person’s specified requirements, not only will you spend unnecessary money but you won’t have the final outcome that you originally foresaw. Instead of one option for each course, give the guests two choices to choose from and make sure that one of them is vegetarian.
6) Put it on a credit card and earn rewards
Take advantage of credit card deals. Putting high costs on one card could earn you airline miles or reward points. Accumulating all your reward points could help you pay for other wedding costs… or your honeymoon!
7) Flawless wedding tips – Avoid microphone mishaps
When it comes to the toasts, write a list of who is speaking, and in what order. Also, give the planner of your wedding a list of who has microphone privileges. Your planner can give the lists to the sound technician or DJ to help the toasts run smoothly and stop anybody from giving any unexpected speeches.
8) Be smart with your guest list
Be aware that approximately 30% of guests will not be able to attend, even more so for destination weddings. Create a prioritized guest list with the “they definitely have to be there” guests at the top of the list and the “it would be nice if they came” guests towards the bottom. Some hotels for destination weddings require a min/max amount of guests, so invite your “they definitely have to be there” first, and work your way down the list. Also, don’t take it personally if people can’t attend. Some may not have vacation time available or simply may not be able to afford a trip to the Caribbean or Hawaii that year.
