So we decided to create this handy-dandy guide to help you plan your visit and not miss a thing.

Mexico: culture, history and folklore

At Xcaret Eco-Park you will be able to experience firsthand the culture and folklore of Mexico; you will also have the chance to learn about the history of this iconic country that is much more than just tequila, mariachis and sun. From Mayan archaeological sites to colorful shows full of music and interesting facts you will learn a lot more about Mexico from beginning to end. And, yes, there will still be tequila and mariachis!

Horses, flying men, mariachis and pre-Hispanic dances are some of the cultural activities and events Xcaret Eco-Park offers daily to all their guests. There are special events like the “Mayan crossing” or “Life and Death Festival” which occur once a year. If you have the chance to visit Xcaret when one of these events are taking place, this will surely be something you will remember and cherish for years to come.

Xcaret Eco-Park: fun activities

Of course, all the cultural shows and events are amazing and fun; but there is more to Xcaret Eco-Park than just that. Nature is also a key element showcased and adored by visitors from all ages.  This is a family place, where both young and old can explore until their hearts are content. Whether you’re watching wildlife at the Butterfly Pavilion, marveling at the jungle’s Jaguars or swimming with dolphins, this is a chance to get up close and personal with some of Mexico’s stunning wildlife. Discover the Caribbean’s secrets in the Coral Reef Aquarium with more than 5,000 living organisms. Learn about the park’s successful environmental programs such as the sea turtle hospital and the red macaw rescue program in the aviary. If you just want to relax, head to the underground rivers or the aquatic paradise for some swimming and snorkeling.

Swim in an underground river

Part of what makes the Yucatan Peninsula so special is its ground composition which allows water to filter from the rain and form underground rivers and sinkholes (“cenotes”). Most are connected to each other, flowing freely across the area.

Xcaret Eco-Park is no exception; a set of these freshwater underground rivers run through the park and into the Caribbean Sea. You can snorkel, leisurely float or swim through these rivers. Just keep in mind that these waters have been barely hit by the sun so they will be cool and refreshing. A revitalizing break from the heat!

Jump in or just chill under the sun

Xcaret Eco-Park has many options for those looking to just chill by the water and get in some well-deserved time under the sun. You can choose between the beach, the lagoon or some of the many natural pools available all around the park. See firsthand the true beauty of the Mexican Caribbean and its iconic colors. Do some leisure swimming or simply find the perfect spot under a palapa. Relax and let it all sink in.

Phew! Are you feeling like being teleported to Xcaret Eco-Park right now? And this is not all! There are many more activities for you to do and discover at Xcaret Eco-Park and the other parks and attractions by Xcaret Group.
