Mexican Fiesta – Zihuatlan
One of the best family activities you’ll find in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is Fiesta Mexicana Zihuatlan! This show is held in the Azul Ixtapa hotel, located only 25 minutes from Zihuatanejo and 10 minutes from Ixtapa. In this amazing Fiesta, you’ll be able to live Mexico’s history through folklore, dancing, and music from the different areas of the country. During the show, there is also a delicious dinner serving the most exquisite dishes of our Mexican cuisine, from antojitos like tacos, sopes, and quesadillas to more elaborate dishes like tiritas, pozole or mole. Delicious traditional desserts and tropical fruits are also part of the menu! A domestic open bar is available as well, including the delicious tequila that only Mexico can create.
Children’s Paradise
During the summer vacations, Ixtapa – Zihuatanejo’s Hotels Association and the Conventions and Visitors Bureau carry out an awesome event to help promote family travel. The Children’s Paradise, or in Spanish Paraíso de los Niños, offers many activities for kids to learn and play. They may be cultural, musical, ecological or even diverse shows. All activities are carried out mainly in the beach areas and at hotel’s convention centers in Ixtapa. Sometimes they’re organized in certain locations of downtown Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo.
One of the things children enjoy the most is the Magical Theater, where they have musical plays, puppet theater, magicians and storytellers. There’s even a talent show for the kids to demonstrate their own artistic abilities! The beach cinema is another of the children’s favorites. Current children’s films are played at the El Palmar Beach area, providing an incredible opportunity for them to enjoy their favorite movies in an amazing natural environment.
The best part is that all activities of the Children’s Paradise are free!!
International Guitar Festival
This event has gained popularity over the past few years, attracting artists from all over the world. This festival promotes music and culture in our beautiful destination through presentations in public and private places providing beautiful musical shows for everyone. The International Guitar Festival usually takes place during one week in March. Make sure to look out for it if you’re coming in those days!
