Jamaica Amstar Rep Michelle Sterling has always offered her very best in everything she does.
Her dedication and excellent service were recognized during the coveted Tourism Excellence Awards 2018 in Jamaica where Michelle received a Special Recognition Award.
She was singled out for a special recognition award which came with a prize of a scholarship for further studies in hospitality management and a J$20,000.00 gift certificate.
She was the only individual from a Destination Management Company in Jamaica in the finals.
It all began in ‘95
Michelle began her career with the company in 1995 when she began working with Apple Vacations.
Since then, she has shown exemplary leadership qualities always working in pursuit of excellence, maximizing sales and customer service.
During her tenure, she has won several awards and her hard work and commitment to excellence got her promoted as a team leader.
An award-collector
During her time with Amstar, she has taken home several “Resort Representative of the Month” and “Top Seller Awards” from our different tour operators. In addition, at the Amstar Excellence Award in 2015, Michelle was awarded the perfect attendance award. That same year she was also awarded the Amstar DMC Jamaica Managing Director’s Award 2015 and in 2017 she won the Spirit of Amstar Award.
A leader at work; a leader in the community
Michelle takes an active part in community relations and gives her support at the annual Coastal Cleanup and instills these values to her son who tags along with her to assist with the beach cleanup.
Michelle also takes great pride in arranging Amstar’s team participation in charity walks/runs each year and encourages team members to join in the 5k charity events in St. James, Trelawny and in St. Ann. These charity events not only contribute to better health but as a means of giving back to our communities especially our children, our schools, and hospitals.
Michelle has not only won the hearts of her clients but also those of her colleagues who recognize that she is a true star!
