The renowned explorer Jacques Cousteau rediscovered Cozumel and its wonderful waters around 1960. He pointed out to the world that this area in Mexico is one of the greatest for diving thanks to its clear waters and abundant marine life. In Cozumel, you don’t even have to dive deep (or scuba dive at all!) to find tropical fish, exotic plants, and amazing animals.
Cozumel is widely known for its clear blue waters and white-sand beaches. Around the island, you will find many wonderful spots full of nature’s greatest treasures. One of the most beautiful we have is the Cielo Reef, a true piece of heaven on Earth! (Heaven being what the Spanish word cielo means). If you want to admire underwater natural treasures, you can choose reef snorkeling in Cozumel.
To enjoy a truly unique view from a vantage point in Cozumel, don’t hesitate to visit the lighthouse at the Punta Sue Eco-Park. You’ll capture the best pictures from up there and will even get a chance to visit an interesting nautical museum! You can also explore the tropical treasures of the island of Cozumel during off-road Jeeps.

The Chankanaab Natural Park is another amazing place you won’t want to miss. You can walk through a botanical garden, watch local wildlife, contemplate the beauty of the Chankanaab lagoon, and relax in its cool waters… Even swim with dolphins in Cozumel, manatees, sharks, and enjoy a sea lion show!
Sea turtles have chosen the coasts of Cozumel to come and lay their eggs year after year. For us this is a great blessing and many environmental programs constantly monitor this activity from May to October. They collect the eggs and keep them safe until the baby turtles are born. Then, the turtles are safely released to the sea.
