Managed a group of 200 passengers in May 2019
Linda works for Van Zile Travel, with 26 years in the travel business, she is truly a travel expert. She is a return customer of Amstar DMC and shares a travel experience she had with a group of nearly 200 passengers.
“Hi, my name is Linda Tack and I am Director of Meetings and Incentives for Van Zile Travel. I have 26 years’ experience in the incentive industry, and I like to think I know what I am talking about! I had an excellent program of just under 200 passengers who went to Secrets Cap Cana in Punta Cana and we were there the 3rd week of May 2019. Van Zile Travel has worked with Mark Jordan and his team at Amstar Dominican Republic many times and I know them well. Amstar did an excellent job from start to finish! Arrivals went smoothly and the group had a great time relaxing at Secrets and enjoying the hotel luxury facilities.
Activity 1: Dune Buggy Tour
My clients went off-site from the hotel enjoying a range of activities. The dune buggy tour was really popular, the clients drove around the beautiful Dominican countryside near to the village of La Ceiba ( about 40 minutes’ drive from the hotel zone ) and had a cultural as well as fun time going through the banana plantations and tasting/trying the local tropical fruits.
Activity 2: Deep-Sea Fishing
The Deep-Sea Fishing had 3 charter boats go out with my clients and they came back happy having caught sailfish, mahi-mahi, and barracuda. They enjoyed a few Presidente beers and Brugal rum along the way!
Activity 3: Marinarium
The Marinarium cruise was the snorkel experience. The clients came back saying it was the best cruise they had enjoyed. This is always a popular draw with groups. The catamaran sails from the small fishing village of Cabeza Del Toro and as well as snorkeling over the reef they swam with sharks and stingrays! Again, everyone had a blast along with a few beverages!
Activity 4: Zip Lines
The final activity the group selected was the zip lines canopy tour up in the Anamuya Mountains (again about 45 minutes out). This gave the guests again the chance to escape and appreciate the breathtaking Dominican countryside and see rural Dominican life up close. They each return safely back to the resort with a 5 by 7 photo of themselves. The whole group experience was a big success and I really look forward to partnering with Amstar again in the Dominican Republic.

Joy is a senior manager of guest and community relations at Sixthman. The company curates full-scale festivals on cruise ships. When they decided to expand to resorts, they needed a trusted partner. Certainly needing someone to help deliver the experience they are known for. This is the success story of their first resort festival. And how Amstar DMC was there to help it all go smoothly.
“Our company has completed 130 full-scale festivals on cruise ships. All while over the last 18 years serving nearly 300,000 guests. Who surely trust us to deliver the vacation of their dreams. When we first began to look into expanding our business into festivals at all-inclusive resorts. We even put a lot of intention and research into where we would host our first festivals. As well as, who we would choose to partner with. While looking for someone who could help us deliver an experience that lives up to the reputation we have. In May 2019, we brought our first resort festival to life and Amstar was there to seamlessly transport 3,000 of our guests, artists, and staff safely to and from the Punta Cana airport to our resort location. “I hosted a group in Punta Cana in May/June 2019 and engaged Amstar in the Dominican Republic as my DMC.
They did an awesome job. From the Director of Sales during the sales and planning process to the “on the ground” operations team. They were all incredibly responsive. Even during “non-office” hours as we were in the planning stages, my calls or emails were responded to very quickly. When I arrived in Punta Cana, the operations team was attentive and efficient. The Coordinator that was with me for the duration of the program was onsite at the resort early every morning. Even, meeting every guest with a smile and a “can-do” attitude.
Most notably, I had a high level of comfort with the Amstar team. By knowing they were taking care of my guest’s ground transportation and excursion needs. Well done Amstar team! I will definitely use Amstar DMC again for the next time I host a program in the Dominican Republic.”
