Even though we should celebrate love every day, Valentine’s Day is pretty much the official international day for Love & Friendship. If you are among the lucky ones who are in the Riviera Maya on this romantic date, there are plentiful romantic options to celebrate love with your valentine. Here are my ideas for the most romantic February 14th in the Riviera Maya:
A perfect start to a perfect Valentine’s Day
For me, a perfect day begins with a wonderful walk on the beach, watching the first rays of sunshine over the Caribbean Sea and feeling the morning breeze. In addition to the natural spectacle, it is an excellent way to do some exercise and renew energies together with my special one.
I love to delight with a rich breakfast, and nothing compares to savoring the first-morning coffee while gazing into my beloved’s eyes. And to combine that with fresh tropical fruits and other mouth-watering dishes is even better! This way, we can delight in each other’s company and talk about what we would like to do on this special day (or drop hints about the surprises we’ve planned).
Relax in Romance
To set the romantic, peaceful mood, what best than a pampering, rich couples massage in the beach? You can get this delicious treatment both in exclusive spas and directly at the beach in some hotels. It is a delight for the body and mind to be in the hands of specialists, listening to the calming sounds of the sea. Talk about tender, loving care! The body relaxes and the last traces of stress melt away completely, setting you up for a wonderful day.
Off to a Romantic Adventure
With this relaxed feeling, we’ll be ready to go out and discover a little more of the wonders of the Riviera Maya. Our choice for this occasion is to visit Xel-Ha, located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Xel-Ha is a wonderful combination of lagoons and natural rivers with crystal clear waters where you can swim and snorkel (or just drift away!). You can also go on a romantic walk in the rain forest and swim with dolphins or manatees. After several activities there you work up a hunger, so we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch of Mexican specialties in one of the restaurants overlooking the lagoon. Life is good when you’re in love!

The Night is Young
After the tour, it is time for a pleasant stroll in the pleasant streets of Playa del Carmen towards a romantic restaurant for a delicious dinner. Preferably at the beach! Playa del Carmen is a cosmopolitan city and to stroll along the 5th Avenue looking at the quaint shops and people is wonderful. We’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and toast for our love in an atmosphere of pure Valentine’s romance in one of the greatest cities in the Riviera Maya.
The Riviera Maya also offers the best ending for a romantic Valentine’s date: the starred sky above the most beautiful beaches in the world! Could you think of a more romantic setting than by the sea, siting on the white sand and surrounded by waving palm trees to tell your sweetheart how much you love him/her?
