Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends is important in any industry. In the destination wedding sector, it’s what differentiates the great wedding planners from the rest. Amstar dmc Wedding Coordinator Daniela Garcia recently participated in the Inspire Smart Success Riviera Maya 2014 at the great Now Sapphire Resort. Here’s what she has to say.
A well-executed plan leads to an amazing event. ISSE was exceptional!
ISS is not only one of the best educational programs for wedding and event planners/vendors/coordinators, it is also a fun experience and an opportunity to network and create new friendships around the globe. They really couldn’t have chosen a better name for what they do, and what they do they do so well!
It all started with a welcoming face at the airport from our Amstar staff, who expertly transferred over 100 attendees to and from Now Sapphire. Always on-time and always with a smile, I realized just how important that moment is when you need someone you can trust to ensure that everything goes smoothly between the airport and the hotel. World class customer service indeed!
The attendees arrived at the hotel only to discover that a very nice surprise awaited us: a welcome party at the pool in the sunny Riviera Maya! And so began the ISSE, with fresh margaritas, delicious food and a stunning view of the Caribbean Sea. Wow! Following our registration at the pool, ISS opened the event with some words of wisdom from celebrity wedding planner Diann Valentine, who provided us with inspirational tips for doing what we love with all the heart! After all, our business is the business of L-O-V-E.
The beach terrace at Now Sapphire was the perfect venue for a fun gathering by the beach afterwards. This beautiful scene provided the perfect backdrop for a night of networking, dancing and… a heart-shaped fireworks display!
The night was a blast and a great start to the event, but the next morning we were all ready to begin the next part of the program and what we were there to do: LEARN and share experiences with the best of the best! Our opening session began at 8 a.m. and was followed by 8 hours of inspirational and important information for us and our businesses. We shared stories with top celebrity wedding planners, such as Karen Tran, Sarah Haywood, Diann Valentine, Amy Atlas, Nikki Khan and Younsong Martin, to name just a few, and got the opportunity to share some of our experiences with them. Now that’s learning from the best!
Following an intense and gratifying 8 hour session, the Amstar team took us aboard deluxe motor coaches and accompanied us to a local venue Playa del Secreto, where vendors hosted an amazing Day of the Dead party full of Mexican fiesta and traditions. We all had an incredible time!
The last day soon arrived, too soon perhaps. We were all really excited for the breakout sessions with celebrity and experienced wedding planners and vendors. We felt so motivated, as if we were some kind of question machine, trying to learn, absorb and share as much as possible about that which we love and know best: WEDDINGS!
As the Weddings Coordinator at of Amstar dmc, I felt really proud that our company sponsored the transportation of over 100 attendees to and from the event. Experiencing the professionalism of our drivers and operations staff made me feel just that much more confident in my work, but also in my co-workers.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I was very thankful to share this time and experience with each and every one of the participants’s whom I was fortunate enough to meet. And not only did I get to create special relationships with wonderful people, but I also had the opportunity to showcase our services and local expertise while also promoting this incredibly beautiful destination that is the Mexican Caribbean!
